Theoretically, any mob with armor or holding an object within the spawn chunks will never despawn, due to the spawn chunks being in memory at all time. If you want a zombie to not despawn, you can throw a piece of armor, or any item, and if the zombie is able to pick the item, it will not despawn even if the zombie isn't in the spawnchunks.
Advertisement. Yep! Animals and mobs in Minecraft have a habit of disappearing when you’re not looking – as exemplified in the sad story above. But a named creature won’t despawn except in a handful of unusual circumstances. For example, you can name a hostile mob but it’ll still vanish if you set the difficulty to “peaceful”.
Bedrock 1.17 realm also. This past 2 weeks I've had the following despawn on my solo private realm (I made it private while I worked a few things out): 1 x name-tagged horses in fenced area. 1 x name-tagged fish in 5x5x5 treasure fishing farm. 1 x name-tagged max-level brewer villager, (which I'm suspicious may have reset to an un-tagged level
A warden is an extremely powerful but easily avoidable hostile mob summoned by sculk shriekers in the deep dark biome. It attacks by swinging its arms downward, dealing the strongest melee damage of all mobs, and can also release a sonic boom attack that immediately strikes the target, piercing through obstacles and deals damage that cannot be reduced except by the Resistance effect. The job of a Minecraft villager also decides the way a villager will behave when wandering or working. For example, farmers sow any seeds or plants they have in their inventory. In Minecraft, a villager can have any one of fifteen total jobs, including being a Nitwit and an unemployed villager.
On the contrary, some people opined that having name tags is all that can keep your villager away from despawning . There are various updates in Minecraft Vanilla Edition. You won’t see your villager despawning there in the absence of name tags. So, name tags are not mandatory to stop your villagers from despawning in the Minecraft world.
If mobs spawn with armor they'll still despawn, but if they pick up and equip armor it's the same as picking up an item and it will prevent them from despawning. On Java mobs have a flag called PersistenceRequired and picking up an item sets this value to 1, and name tags also set this value.
Behavior of Drowned in Minecraft. Zombies are capable of pathfinding at the bottom of oceans, but they make no attempt to stay floating on the surface of the water. Once they turn drowned they are capable of swimming upwards towards players. Drowned are only capable of entering the swimming animation in the Bedrock edition of Minecraft.
