I think every C5 has issues with the anti pollution fault and from what I can gather the main cure is a new HP fuel pump. The cost of this from citroen is £640 an absolute rip off. I currently have an issue with the car cutting out and stopping completely when this fault is displayed.

Disconnecting the battery may reset the light, But it may still be stored and you wont know why the light came on. Windows, Radio etc maybe affected but so may the ECU it may run like a bag of bolts for 20 - 30 miles and not get full economy/performance back fpr a fair few miles after that.
